THE PERSON WHO HURTS YOU THE MOST IS OFTEN THE ONE THAT LOVES YOU.
Lily has been working hard through the challenges and has remained determined in building the life she dreams of. From a small Maine town, she acquired a college degree, moved to Boston and opened her self-business. However, when Lily meets a magnetic neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid, she starts to wonder whether the positive changes in her life are too perfect to be true.
Ryle has an arrogance, stubbornness and a measure of superiority. However, under his tough exterior, he shows a soft and intelligent side that has a real affection for Lily. Nevertheless, Ryle rigid aversion to commitment poses uncertainty. However, Lily has broken his no dating policy but she cannot stop wondering about the circumstances that made him avoid relationships initially.
The first love of her life is Atlas Corrigan and a reminder of her past that she left behind when the doubts about her recent romance appear in her mind. He was her soul mate, her shield. The unexpected emergence of Atlas puts everything she has created with Ryle at risk.
As a brave and intimately personal novel, It Ends With Us takes the form of a heart touching story, a painful love story involving the most painful sacrifices.
Review
It Ends With Us has stayed popular thanks to the waves of popularity on TikTok and Instagram. Emotion laden, full of suffering, pain, and epiphany this novel by Colleen Hoover is a compassionate work that is a worthwhile read.
The story It Ends With Us revolves around the love life of Lily, a young woman who has to deal with questions of love, heartbreak, betrayal and life choices. Meeting Ryle, a famous surgeon, Lily perceives as the fulfillment of a dream in a very unflattering world where she is a stranger.
However, the surface of Ryle good manners and intelligence begins to falter as Lily discovers that he has problems with relationships. This disclosure causes disquiet in her again the memory of her past love, Atlas. Lily grabs the opportunity to form a bond with Atlas and hence her life with Ryle is in the holding state. Which road will Lily take?
When opening It Ends With Us readers are given a hint of personal involvement from the author. This contemporary romance novel titled It Ends With Us provides a tale that will make you emotionally exposed, vulnerable, caught up in inner struggles and crying.
The author Hoover created a great sympathetic protagonist in the lead character Lily which immediately won me over. Lily seems like a person within our circle, a friend, a sister, or a colleague found readily. Her stories strike through to a core level of relatability, reflecting the lives of much of women, past, present, and probably future.
While the novel It Ends With Us may be a very personal story for some people especially due to the subject of family abuse and emotional abuse for this, I just want to state a trigger warning. However, it is important to mention that Colleen Hoover approaches these delicate topics with a great deal of respect, drawing from her own life experiences.
Hoover capacity to be impartial despite such a difficult and tragic past is extraordinary and I applaud her for this kind of approach.
It Ends With Us is a broken love tale. There is too much sadness in this single. Hoover appears to stand out in this aspect because the umbrella theme forms a base for the entire narrative direction of her novel. Hoover delves into the battle in love with Ryle and Atlas, both male leads as well.
This perceive writer also peers into the world of Lily allowing us to know about this woman inner pain, opposite emotions and changing mood. A universal feel tale that effortlessly makes a way to your heart, It Ends With Us is a novel with an important message underlying its themes of strength, choice, depth and power.
