Review:

The 2019 #1 New York Times bestseller Regretting You by Colleen Hoover is a very celebrated release. This novel is a compelling two for one package combining a new adult romance with an engrossing women fiction story.

The main characters in this novel are Morgan Grant and Clara daughter of Morgan grant who struggle with the numerous difficulties that are connected to the mother daughter relationship. Morgan is hell bent on preventing Clara from falling into the same youthful traps that she herself fell into having been subjected to early pregnancy and the marital life that had dashed her own aspirations.

Clara who has specific goals and aspirations does not want to be as she was her mother was. The point of stabilization in the relationship between Clara and Morgan is Chris, Clara father and Morgan husband. However, their harmony is broken when Chris is intricate in an accident that alters his life forever. After this tragedy Clara and Morgan are very supportive to each other.

Nevertheless, many problems emerge when Morgan finds solace in an extremely unlikely affair and Clara retaliates by embarking on a forbidden romance. How will they forgive and support each other once again?

Colleen Hoover has quickly become my most favorite author to read when I need a short break from the book reviews. Immersing into the world of Regretting You occurred effortlessly. As I got into the story the pages seemed to come to the life.

The focus of my attention in Regretting You is the brilliantly intertwined romance or family drama of Colleen Hoover who does them so well. The story starts with the gripping flashback of Morgan, Chris her husband, Jenny her sister and Jonah Jenny boyfriend .The flashback of Morgan childhood is an very ideal beginning for the whole story which gives a lot of information about the nature of Morgan.

I appreciated that part of the novel and Jonah the male lead became my most favorite. The contemporary story begins with Clara the 16 year old daughter of Morgan. Though I do not have any daughters who are teenagers, not to mention having a teenager myself, I value the manner in which Hoover describes the skill of handling a teenage girl. I would not say that I wanted to be in Morgan shoes as a mother fighting for her daughter good but I felt her pain with each step.

Hoover skillfully immerses herself into the many details and the paradoxes of the ordinary mother daughter connection portraying a vivid image of the relationship. Also, Hoover gives the readers an interesting insight into the teen dating and rebellion through Clara. The characters Miller and Clara who are attractive make the plot a new adult romance factor.

As we go deeper into Morgan point of view we see a life stuck in a repetitive standoff right when the family is hit by a tragic accident that sends tremors through the lives of this mother and the daughter. I sympathize with Morgan desire to establish a routine, stability, and also commitment to her family. However, another part of me wanted Morgan to recognize her own true happiness and her ability to love someone else.

The cataclysmic accident with her husband Chris sparks her resurrection. As this key event Colleen Hoover masterfully weaves a wide variety of emotions grief, loss, bewilderment, mistrust, betrayal, anger, estrangement, anguish, revenge, parenthood difficulties, pain, and also defiance. As Jonah and Morgan meet in the pages of the book it is as if a ray of light shines in a dark world.

Seeing these characters path, I eagerly wished that they find their happiness. The ending of the novel provides a feeling of relief as the characters gain a lot of harmony. Still, despite the ending there remained many thoughts, doubts, and questions, particularly concerning the specifics of the accident. Did other readers have similar thoughts after reading the book?

Regretting you is a narrative of life, love, complications, difficult dialogues, communication complexities, resilience, and also hope. In this emotionally charged story of rejuvenating relationships, Colleen Hoover weaves a narrative that really captivates readers.
