Intro of the book

Colleen Hoover is a famous writer of modern love stories. Her new book, “It Starts With Us,” is a touching story about love, giving up things for others, and saying sorry. It is so good that you cannot put it down.

The book is about Lily Bloom, a 22-year-old girl who grew up watching her parents fight a lot. Lily does not want to live like her parents, but things get complicated when she meets Ryle Kincaid, a successful brain doctor. Ryle is good-looking and has everything Lily wants in a boyfriend. However, Ryle’s past and his fear of being in a serious relationship could ruin their love.

While Lily is trying to figure out her feelings for Ryle, she meets Atlas Corrigan, her first love, again. Atlas coming back into Lily’s life makes things even more confusing for her. Lily has to face her past, make hard choices, and in the end, decide between the two men she loves.

What is really special about “It Starts With Us” is how Hoover talks about serious issues like domestic violence and mental health. The story is a rollercoaster of emotions, with sad and hopeful moments. Hoover’s writing is real and honest, making readers feel like they are living the characters’ lives.

Characters of the book

The characters in “It Starts With Us” are easy to relate to and have many layers. Lily is a brave and independent woman who is not scared to say what she thinks. Ryle is charming and successful, but his past troubles him, making it hard for him to be in a serious relationship. Atlas is the typical bad boy with a kind heart, and his love for Lily never changes.

My Reviews

I recently discovered Colleen Hoover’s books and have been reading as many as I can this year. After reading “It Ends with Us,” I was excited to read the sequel, “It Starts with Us,” which features Lily and Atlas as the main characters. The book is told from both of their perspectives, which was great because it allowed me to understand their thoughts and feelings.

The story deals with Lily’s trauma, relationships, fears, and trust issues as a single parent while also exploring Atlas’s past struggles with abuse, neglect, homelessness, and gaslighting. The introduction of Josh and Theo adds to the plot and helps Atlas become a better person.

However, I was disappointed that Ryle did not have a bigger role in the story. The book is full of drama and emotions and a great read.

Final Words

In conclusion, “It Starts With Us” is a book that anyone who likes modern love stories should read. Hoover’s writing is beautiful, and her characters are memorable. The book is an emotional journey that will leave readers feeling sad and hopeful at the same time. It is a story about love, giving up things for others, and saying sorry, and readers will remember it long after they have finished reading it.
